Investor Relations, Manufacturing Partnership, Commercialisation

Brant Biehn is a senior commercial executive with over two decades of experience in global sales, marketing, business development, and investor relations across the vaccine, pharmaceutical, and medical device sectors. Known for his ability to drive performance through strategic transformation and team leadership, Brant has held pivotal roles in both multinational corporations and high-growth biotech startups.

Most recently, Brant leads strategic planning consulting engagements for pharmaceutical, vaccine, and medical device clients, advising on business development, investor relations, portfolio management, and public affairs. His consulting draws on a wealth of hands-on leadership experience, from early-stage commercialization to large-scale operational execution.

From 2018 to 2023, Brant served as SVP of Commercial Operations at Vaxart, a clinical-stage biotech focused on oral vaccines. In this role, he was responsible for building out the commercial infrastructure and leading functions including business development, manufacturing partnerships, public affairs, and investor relations. He worked closely with executive leadership to shape corporate growth strategy and helped drive key fundraising and partnership initiatives during a period of significant expansion.

Previously, Brant was Chief Commercial Officer at Dynavax Technologies, where he oversaw global business development, marketing, and supply chain operations. He played a central role in capital strategy and commercialization of the company’s vaccine portfolio, establishing sales, marketing, and distribution operations to support product launch readiness.

Earlier in his career, Brant spent more than a decade at Merck & Co., where he held multiple leadership roles with increasing responsibility. As Global Brand Leader for the adult vaccine franchise, he managed P&L responsibilities and led the global launch of Zostavax as well as the strategic expansion of Pneumovax 23 during global pandemic preparedness efforts. He also directed global marketing strategy for Merck’s arthritis, diabetes, and vaccine portfolios, building a reputation for operational excellence and strategic insight in diverse therapeutic areas.

Brant began his career in sales and marketing with Merck in Canada and advanced through roles in market research and brand management before transitioning into executive leadership. Across all roles, he has consistently demonstrated the ability to build strong, high-performing teams, drive revenue growth, and guide companies through periods of major change and opportunity.

He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from Memorial University of Newfoundland.
